Principal Investments:

  • Amlin:  Original investor in Amlin (formerly known as Murray Lawrence), one of Lloyd’s longest tenured Managing Agencies.  Investment syndicate of Lehman Brothers, State Farm and White Mountains.  IRR 25% upon exit.  Amlin grew from a $60 million investment to become a $6 billion company, eventually sold to Mitsui of Japan in 2015.

  • Axis Capital: Original investor in Axis, one of the Bermuda ‘class of 2001’ startups.  Investment syndicate led by Stonepoint Capital.  IRR 25% upon exit.  Axis grew from a $1.75 billion private company to become a public company and Bermuda market leader with a market value of $5 billion.

  • Harbourpoint.  Original investor in Harbourpont, one the Bermuda ‘class of 2005’ startups.  Investment syndicate led by Stonepoint Capital.  IRR 20% upon exit.  Harbourpoint was sold to Max Re in 2012.

Principal Investment Advisory:

  • Admiral. Advisor on $150 million investment by Barclay’s Capital and Munich Re. Today Admiral is a $7 billion market value enterprise.

  • Catlin. Advisor on $100 million recapitalization by Pritzker Family company Western General Insurance and Centre Re. Catlin eventually merged with Wellington Insurance and later sold to XL for $4 billion.

  • Aon. Advisor on $1 billion capitalization of Endurance

  • Aon. Advisor on $575 million sale of The Warrany Group to Onex

  • Axa. Advisor on $1 billion sale of Paris Re to Stonepoint Capital and Hellman & Freedman

  • CVC. Advisor on $1 billion investment commitment to support Endurance’s acquisition of Aspen Holdings

  • CVC. Advisor on $500 million investment into Pension Insurance Corporation (PIC) UK
